Tournament Update
The seedings for the state tournament will be announced on Tuesday. The seedings are done strictly by winning percentage. In the event of a tie, the teams with the same record are put into a hat and drawn at random.
Plymouth North will be the number 1 seed. Seeds 2-7 (assuming OA beats King Philip today which they should) will all be 15-5 which means they will be drawn at random. Here is what each seed would mean:
Seed 1 (PN) - First Round bye, will play the winner of DY/GNB Voke in the quarterfinals on 6/6 or 6/7
Seed 2 - First Round bye, will play the winner of Hopkinton/7 seed in the quarterfinals on 6/6 or 6/7
Seed 3 - First Round bye, will play the winner of Milton or Falmouth/6 seed in the quarterfinals on 6/6 or 6/7
Seed 4 - First Round bye, will play the winner of Milton or Falmouth/5 seed in the quarterfinals on 6/6 or 6/7
Seed 5 - Hosts Falmouth or Milton in first round on 6/2, 6/3 or 6/4
Seed 6 - Hosts Falmouth or Milton in first round on 6/2, 6/3 or 6/4
Seed 7 - Hosts Hopkinton in first round on 6/2, 6/3 or 6/4
What it all means - If Hingham plays a first round game it will be at Cronin against Milton, Falmouth or Hopkinton. That game will be on Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Thursday Hingham has its senior prom, Friday is tough to play because its the day after the prom and Saturday is tough because its graduation day. If Hingham earns a first round bye, they will not play until the following week. Assuming OA beats KP today, which they should, Hingham has a 50% chance at a first round bye.
