Florida Trip

A few more details regarding the April vacation trip to Florida:
We will leave on Monday April 19th and return on Sunday April 25th.
We will be playing Somerset Academy High School at Broward College at 7:30pm on that Tuesday. We play Marathon High School on Wednesday and Key West High School on Friday. We will have at least one practice each day that we do not play, plus there will be opportunities for extra batting practice when we are in Key West. The cost of the trip will be set at $600 but just like last year, all of it will be able to be earned through fundraising. Several players went for free last season while the average out of pocket expense per player was only $200.

You can find a link to our league schedule on the left side of this page. For our non-league games this year we will be playing a doubleheader at Nantucket on May 29th. In addition, we will have 3 games in Florida. 4/20 7pm against Somerset Academy at Broward College, 4/21 7pm at Marathon High School (Florida Keys) and 4/23 7:30pm at Key West High School.

If you are a member of Hingham High School Baseball and did not receive an invitation to the blog, please email me at bobrodgers@aol.com and I will invite you. When you are a member of the blog you can post information. You can send pictures or texts directly from your phone (remember this is a public blog and everyone can read it so please make sure everything you post is appropriate). This is a great way to communicate about all kind of baseball activities. Parents and friends will also be able to watch a play by play description of all of our games during the season. April Vacation Trip

We are planning to play in Florida once again over April vacation. We still need school approval and must deal with some fundraising issues, but we expect this to all come together. The two games we have planned right now are a 7:30pm game against Marathon Key on 4/21 and an 8pm game on 4/23 at Key West. We may add a third game, but that is up the air right now.
We will be flying on Southwest Airlines.

Return Sunday 4/25 West Palm Beach 7:10am Arrive Providence 1:45pm

Tryouts

Now that we have turned the calendar to 2010, it won't be long now before we begin our defense of the Patriot League Championship. Tryouts will begin on Monday March 15th.
