Anything But Smooth Sailing For The Harbormen

Scituate - Anything that could go wrong for Hingham Baseball yesterday did as the Scituate Sailors slapped the Harbormen with a 7-4 loss. Scituate snapped a scoreless tie in the third when David Padrigui singled to left scoring Brian Collins. Scituate (3-1, 2-0) scored in the next inning on a 2 out infield error. Hingham (2-1, 2-1) loaded the bases in the top of the first with no one out, but Scituate starter Jordan Jenkins proceeded to strikeout the next 3 batters to leave them loaded. Kevin Zyrkowski started on the hill and was in control of the game before being forced out after 3 innings with a strained groin. Junior David Hogan started at short in place of Jake McGuiggan, who was the DH yesterday to give his throwing arm some rest. In the 2nd inning, Hogan was knocked out of the game when a ground ball took a bad bounce and hit him in the nose. Early indications are that he will be alright and could be back as soon as Wednesday when the Harbormen play host to Whitman-Hanson.
