Plenty of K's for Z in season opening win
North Quincy - Senior captain Kevin Zyrkowski took a perfect game into the 5th when North Quincy got its first base runner with one out in the inning on an infield error but that did not fluster the crafty righty who went the distance on a 3 hitter to lift the Hingham Harbormen to an impressive 14-3 season opening win. Junior David Hogan sparked the offense going 4-for-5 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI. Senior captain Jake McGuiggan went 2-2 with 2 walks while Eric Sherman and Zyrkowski also had 2 hits apiece for the Harbormen, who had 16 hits in the game. Zyrkowski was sensational on the hill going the distance on a 3 hitter and giving up just 3 unearned runs. He also struck out 7. Hingham will face one of the league's top teams tomorrow when they play host to Silver Lake at Cronin Field in Hingham.
