brilliant innings of no hit relief to lift Hingham to a 7-5 win over
Marathon High School. Junior rightfielder Alex Pompeo had a huge
night going 3-for-4 with a double and 2 runs scored. But Pompeo's
most memorable moment of the night came in the bottom of the 6th when
he ended the inning with a spectacular diving catch in the gap in
right center. Sophomore Sean Greene, who also had 2 hits, made a
great grab on a foul pop over the first base fence. Junior righty
David Hogan had a solid start keeping Marathon off the scoreboard
through the first 4 innings but the home team struck for 5 runs in the
5th to pull to within a run. Hingham improves to 4 and 2 as they get
prepared for Thursdays big game at Key West.
